Ants Champions League Sweep now launched

ANTS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SWEEP

Hi Folks,

Please find below a copy of the new Champions League Sweep for St. Anthony’s FC. We would be extremely grateful if you would print it off and return it to us as we look to try and raise funds to help us through the forthcoming season and also to help win you some cash as well.

£10 for the Group Stages, you are not obliged to take part in the knockout stages. If you want to take part in the whole tournament the cost is £20. Great value for a tournament that finishes next May.

The Group Stage main prize will be awarded just in time for Christmas so the more we get to take part the more of a Christmas Bonus you can earn.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for some), there is no Scottish interest in the competition. The bad news for everyone is that it is on less team that could help you double your points tally. ALL MATHES INVOLVING BRITISH TEAMS WILL WIN POINTS FOR EVERYONE (0 POINTS WILL BE 5, 5 POINTS WILL BE 10 AND 10 POINTS WILL BE 20)

Remember to predict the groups at the bottom of the second page and also to select your goalkeeper and goalscorer. Goalkeepers will earn points for clean sheets and penalty saves and goalscorer’s will earn points for goals scored.

CHOOSE WISELY

Each group at the top lists the teams in pot order from 1 to 4.

Goalkeeper who plays for a Club in Pot 1 will earn 1 point per clean sheet and a Pot 1 goalscorer will earn 1 point per goal
Goalkeeper (Pot 2) will earn 2 points per clean sheet and goalscorer, 2 points per goal
Goalkeeper (Pot 3) will get you 3 points for a clean sheet and your goalscorer will see you get 3 points per goal
Goalkeeper (Pot 4) will reward you with 4 points per clean sheet and your goalscorer will host your points tally with 4 points per goal.

ANY GOALKEEPER WHO SAVES A PENALTY WILL WIN YOU 5 POINTS REGARDLESS OF POT.
ANY GOALSCORER WHO SCORES A HAT-TRICK WILL HAVE THEIR POINTS TALLY DOUBLED FOR THAT MATCH.

Prizes will be announced once all entries are in. We would like to thank you for your support in advance

If you are taking part can you let me know if you want to take part in the whole tournament or just the Group Stages and whether you need to pay your money up.

If anybody has any questions regarding the Sweep please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

ANTHONY McKENNA

Jay McKay says goodbye as hitman joins Bellshill

Ants player of the year last season Jason McKay has left the club to join fellow Central League Division One club Bellshill. Jay had a great first season at the club but felt that he wanted to move on and the club reluctantly agreed to this request. Thanks for all your efforts in the last year wee man and good luck (except against us obviously) at your new club.

As the old saying goes ‘Once an Ants man always an Ants Man’

Ants v Neilston Preview

The Ants open their season with a EuroScot Engineering Sectional League Cup match against a Neilston side who will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat v a 10 man Pollok side at Newlandsfield on Saturday. The Ants look set to give competitive debuts to a number of players who were snapped up in the close season. Jonny Duncan looks set to deputise in goal after he signed from Glencairn, whilst Finlay Thomson, Bernie McDonald, Jamie Docherty and Stephen Woods are all looking to make their competitive bows and available for selection for Ants boss James McKenna.

Ants – Neilston games are usually entertaining encounters and hopefully this game is cut from the same cloth, Last season Neilston were unbeaten against the Ants winning 4-3 at Brig O’Lea in a thriller in the Sectional League Cup, before a 3-0 win in the league and a 1-0 victory at McKenna Park and the Ants players will be looking to avenge those defeats and get their season off to the best possible start

Kick Off is at 6:45pm with a £4 entry for Adults and a £2 fee for OAP/Concessions

A 24 page match programme will also be available for £1

Come along and watch the Ants kick their season off and get behind the players
