McGarroch makes McKenna Park Move

The club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Gary McGarroch ahead of the new season. Gary will join up with the team when preseason training begins and Ants manager John Kelly is delighted to have signed the former Renfrew striker.

I am delighted we have managed to get a player of Gary’s quality.This is a great signing for the club.There is no question of Gary’s ability and I think he will fit in well with the rest of the squad. Gary has played at a much higher level and could 100% play a few divisions higher but he has chosen to pull on the hoops this season and help us achieve our goals.

Club Statement – Grant Kelly leaves club

We can today confirm that Grant Kelly has left the club by mutual consent due to work commitments. Grant is a popular figure around McKenna Park and was top goalscorer however his working schedule made it difficult for him to attend training sessions and subsequently left him struggling to make the match day squads. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Grant for his efforts at the Ants and wish him all the best in the future. We’ll always have Rome buddy!

 

McGarrigle makes move – and it’s announced on Nigerian Radio!!

The club are delighted to confirm the signing of Stephen McGarrigle. Stephen had been captain at Johnstone Burgh where he had played for a number of years. Manager John Kelly is delighted to get his man

I am delighted to bring Steph in. His experience in the junior game is second to none and something we have missed in the early part of the season. Steph is a real leader, very aggressive and on the ball he is cool and collected. His experience will no doubt rub off on the younger boys in the squad so I am over the moon with him putting pen to paper.

The signing was announced in a world exclusive on Nigerian radio station MaxFM by Breakfast show presenter Mark Otabor in his sports report as the club has recently started to build a following in the country following the Non League Day twitter support of Italian giants AS Roma. The club are delighted to announce the signing of Fraser Williams. Fraser made his debut in Saturdays great 3-1 win at home to Johnstone Burgh and Ants manager John Kelly is buzzing to have secured his signature. Speaking to the Ants website John said

I am delighted to add Fraser to the squad. Fraser is a winger who is very direct and has bags of quality, I can’t wait to see more of him in an Ants jersey this season. He has a real hunger and determination about him which fits perfectly with the model of the current squad

McGrory makes McKenna Move

Derek McGrory today completed his switch from Muirkirk to McKenna Park. Derek had impressed as a trialist during pre-season for the Ants before signing for Muirkirk and his signing is a big boost to John Kelly’s aims for the season. The Gaffer spoke to the Ants website

I am delighted to welcome Del on board. Del is a player I know very well, having grown up and gone to school with him and he is no stranger to the Ants as he played a few games for us this pre season. He had offers on the table from other junior clubs since leaving Muirkirk but he has decided to sign on at the Ants to help us with the project we have going on at McKenna Park

Quinn you believe it!

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Anthony Quinn after he left Maryhill to join up with John Kelly’s Ants revolution. Anthony had been training with the club since leaving Maryhill and the midfielder has impressed the management with his hard work and skill. Speaking to the Ants website Anthony was thrilled to join The Ants

“I am Delighted to be given the opportunity to play for St Anthonys, in the short period of time that I’ve been here I’ve been more than welcomed by the squad of players and the management as well, It’s a good group of boys and very positive coaching staff and I am sure we will have a good successful season!”

Ants Manager John Kelly was impressed with Anthony and is sure the midfielder can improve the squad

“I am delighted to add Anthony to the Squad. He has been with us for last 2 weeks and has impressed me and the rest of the coaching team. He will definitely add extra quality into the middle of the park.”

Ants Announce Arthur!

The club are today delighted to announce the signing of former Johnstone Burgh and Neilston striker Scott Arthur. Scott joins us after leaving the Burgh and impressing in Saturday’s friendly away to Larkhall and brings with him plenty of experience at the Junior level having also played for Renfrew and Vale of Leven. Scott has set his sights on firing the Ants up the table, Speaking to the Ants website after signing he said

I’m looking forward to working hard with the lads and hopefully getting a few goals to get the Ants back up the table.”

John Kelly has known Scott for years and knows exactly what he will bring to the team ”

I have known Scott for a number of years and I know the qualities he will bring to the team. He is a very honest player and will add that physical side we have been lacking up top. He has also got a lot of experience at this level which will hopefully help the guys round about him.”

Ain’t Nothing but a G thing as Crawford re-signs

The club are today delighted to announce the re-signing of right back/midfielder Graeme Crawford. Graeme has been at the Ants since the 2014/15 season and is a well liked face around McKenna Park. Ants Manager John Kelly is pleased Graeme has re-signed “I am delighted to welcome Graeme back to the Ants. Graeme has a lot of experience at this level and he will no doubt add that little bit of extra quality to our back line. Technically Graeme is very good, comfortable with the ball at his feet and is very good at reading the game” Graeme goes straight into consideration for selection at tomorrow’s match away to Muirkirk

Ants re-sign Chris Gordon

The club are delighted to announce that they have re-signed last season’s top goalscorer Chris Gordon. Chris notched 15 goals in his debut season for the club and could play a big part in helping the club reach it’s objectives this season. Speaking to the Ants Website Manager John Kelly said “I am delighted we have re-signed Chrissy. He will add even more quality to our strike force and he is a proven goal scorer at this level which will give us a massive boost.” Chris will go straight into squad for tomorrow nights game away to Ashfield. Ants snap up Shaun Gallagher

The club are delighted to announce the signing of former Barony of Blackhall AFC midfielder Shaun Gallagher after he impressed the coaching staff during recent pre-season training. Manager John Kelly had previously spotted the player during his time at Barony and invited him along to pre-season. “Shaun caught my eye whilst he was playing with Barony of Blackhall. His vision and ball retention are impressive and he has the physique to dominate in the middle of the park. Since coming in for pre-season he impressed the coaching team and we are delighted he has put pen to paper”.
