Darren Marshall makes McKenna Park Move

Continuing with our signing announcements we are delighted to announce the signing of former Renfrew Under 21s Darren Marshall. Speaking to the Ants official website ‘Dinky’ let us know that he has promotion in his sights this year “I’ve signed for the Ants to try and help the club achieve promotion this season coming”. JK was delighted to have snapped him up “Signing Dinky from Renfrew was one of my top priorities when I took over at the Ants. He is a very creative player but he reads the game so well in the middle of the park and is excellent at breaking up play”. With an endorsement like that from the Gaffer the fans at McKenna Park will be looking forward to seeing him in the hoops.

Kodro comes on board at Ants

The club are delighted to announce the signing of pacy winger Chris “Kodro” MacDonald. Kodro can play on both left and right wing and the former Glenburn and Linwood Welfare winger had a number of offers from other junior clubs and John Kelly is delighted he plumped for the Ants. “Bringing Kodro to the Ants will bring some much needed pace to the flanks and with him having offers from other junior clubs I am delighted he put pen to paper here at St Anthony’s”

Captain Conway commits to Club

Recently named Ants Club Captain Anton Conway has put pen to paper for the forthcoming season. Anton is a vital part of the club and we look forward to seeing him back in the hoops for this season. Anton himself is looking forward to trying to help the club improve on last seasons 4th place finish “I am gutted about how last season finished and I am looking forward to leading the club in my new role”.  Manager John Kelly added ” Anton being promoted from team captain to club captain with give the club a huge boost on and off the park. Anton’s vast junior experience will help the club go in the right direction and I am delighted he has signed on for this season”

Here’s hoping come May he is celebrating as the Ants look to climb the new look West Region divisions

Brennan makes move as Ants snap up winger

The club can also confirm the signing of young winger Colin Brennan from Johnstone Burgh U’21s. Colin spent 2 years with the Burgh 21’s having previously appeared for Gleniffer Thistle and we are hoping that he can continue to develop the potential he showed at that level as he makes the step up to the Junior grade.

Heron signs up for Hoops

We are delighted (if not a little delayed) in announcing the signing of striker Jack Heron, who joins the club after a few seasons with Johnstone Burgh and a short spell at Newmains. Jack is a big powerful centre forward and we hope he can help lead the line in the Central District 2nd Division for us this season.

Milarvie makes McKenna Park move

The club can announce the signing of Michael Milarvie from Tower Hearts U’21s. The young defender was part of the Tower Hearts U21 side that won the league championship last season and is now making the step up to the Junior grade. Here’s hoping he can add to his medal tally in the seasons to come.

Duncan a done deal as Wullie re-signs

The club are happy to announce that striker Wullie Duncan has returned to the club for a second spell, having left midway through last season to join East Kilbride. Wullie was a firm fans favourite in his first spell at the club which saw him grab the top goalscorer trophy in both his seasons and we are hoping he can replicate his goal scoring exploits on his return.

Ants grab Gordon

The club are pleased to announce the signing of striker Chris Gordon. Chris is an experienced striker having turned out for Cambuslang, Rossvale and Wishaw and is a proven goalscorer at this level. Here’s hoping that he can bring his golden touch to the Club in the coming seasons.

Ants snap up Sichi

The club have completed the signing of former Albion Rovers attacking midfielder Lee Sichi. Lee has a lot of junior experience following spells with Kilsyth Rangers, Maryhill and latterly Cambuslang Rangers and is a great addition to the squad for this season. Work commitments had hampered Lee over recent seasons but he is now fully available and we hope he can contribute to a successful season at McKenna Park
